History

Community Impact Organization, was founded in 2002, with a mission to improve the lives of residents of Lorain County through social, economic and youth programs; thereby showing the love of Jesus Christ in real and tangible ways.

Community Impact Organization opened their doors at the initial facility on Middle Avenue in Elyria, Ohio, providing youth programs, character education, emergency food services and computer classes.  After three extremely successful years serving the community, we moved to 1909 North Ridge Road East, putting us in the middle of Lorain County providing a greater opportunity to minister to more families than on Middle Avenue.  This was a classic example of how a building does not make a ministry and God has blessed us with greater opportunity through this move.  Over 3,000 families from Lorain County are registered to receive assistance from us and we serve 600 - 800+ families per month.

"Just this week, we talked with a lady in our food pantry who just left her husband due to an abusive relationship.  She and her three children moved into an apartment and they did not have any food, their cupboards were literally bare.  Although she applied for food stamps, it would be at least 30 days until she received any.  We were able to bless her  with ample food supplies for her and the children and guaranteed her assistance until her food stamps arrived.  She left with tears in her eyes, as did we, as we knew that it was only through the grace of God and the kind donations from our supporters that allowed us to be a beacon of light is this mother's life."

Our food pantry is targeted to serve over 7,000 families, providing over 400,000 lbs of food to those in need in Lorain County this year!  We are excited about our ministry and this opportunity to serve those in need.

We are grateful for the dedicated support that we receive from the United Way of Greater Lorain County, The Stocker Foundation, R.W. Beckett Corporation, Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Amherst, Church on the Rise, Westlake,  Elyria Community Church of the Nazarene and House of Praise International, Lorain.
