Community Impact Organization Opens First Choice Food Pantry in Lorain County.

This community based emergency food pantry is open Tuesday from 10:00 AM - Noon and Thursday evenings 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM., offering the working poor and others in need an opportunity to receive food assistance in a very dignified way.  Our pantry is set up like a 2,500 square foot store, where clients choose the food they need based on family size guidelines that we provide.  Our clients are blessed with our favorite contemporary music to make their shopping enjoyable.  The "choice" style pantry restores dignity and self esteem to those in need.  A large portion of our food is purchased through Second Harvest of North Central Ohio for a low maintenance fee of .15 per pound.  We also receive numerous donations from community organizations, individuals and our partner churches.  Cash and food donations are always accepted to meet the needs of our Lorain County community.

The Community Impact Organization is one of only a few pantries that serve those in need from all over Lorain County. "We do not adhere to any "boundaries" other than the county line.  We desire to restore dignity to those in need.  Far too many families are turned away at food pantries because they live in the wrong area.  This coupled with areas that are not serviced by food pantries we decided to open our services to families from all of Lorain County," said Todd Walts, Executive Director.  "Individual donors can rest assured that we are serving those in need in the entire county, quite possibly even their neighbor."
